As taught by The Expunginator

Started with basic lameco step behind to get knee out of way of strike. Integrated into the roof block to power 2 drill that we’ve been working on. Attacker strikes #12, but when opponent roof blocks does a low backhand to opponent knee. Opponent combines the forehand counter after the roof block with the lameco step.

Reviewed the Naihanchi breakdown especially the catch as people wanted more practice on it. Emphasized rooting. Also taught (from a punch), “block” to LI-10/11, Kick to sp-11, backfist to face.

Did rooting drills where partner tries to pick you up. Emphasized that it’s not about the mechanics of how it works as much as being able to do it.

August 1, 2006: Dave taught everything

Started with attacker striking 12s and defender doing a largo roof block.  Defender then did a vertical abaniko, to a power 2.  Original attacker does a 2-handed block against the power 2.   Encouraged students to wear protective gear and actually hit one another.  Empahsized “caveman” footwork.
Translated two handed block to stick against open hand.  Common theme of caveman footwork including kick to the inner thigh.  Short elbows to the body and the “I’ve got sexy hair” cover/elbow.

Finished with basic sensitivity of arm grabbing in a free form drill
